LOG & WOOD RAILINGS WITH GLASS

Custom hardware and ingenious adaptions have made the combination log and glass a reality in Whistler. These beautiful railings are the result of years of custom problem-solving and experience within the unique environment of Whistler architecture.

GLASS & LOG RAILINGS

Safety Glass utilized in the construction of deck railings is becoming the choice of many architects. Of prime importance is the safety of the customer and their children.

As you can see, ‘safety glass’ panels effectively create a solid barrier wall, without looking like one!

A groove in the upper log rail with special clips holding the glass onto the lower rail log prevents rot in our wet climate. All grooves have a black vinyl insert to fit around the glass.

GLASS & WOOD RAILINGS

The first example of a glass and wood railing is the Goodwin house showing their deck railing, a fairly typical style with no bottom rail. The second sample shows a plank style railing. Simple construction, easy maintenance and low cost results provides a very clean looking and safe deck railing. The panels of tempered safety glass can be easily removed for cleaning or access. STAND OFF HARDWARE

Some inspections require a means of preventing a person from ‘climbing’ over the log rail.

Whistler Glass came up with the idea of safety glass combined with their proprietary ‘stand-off’ hardware. Using this method the open log railing look is maintained. At the same time it is completely safe.
